The city of Altadena is situated at the base of the Sierra Madre foothills just north of Pasadena. This unincorporated community is approximately 14 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and is known for it's historical homes and a number of hiking trails, including the trail to the Dawn Mine.
It is home to Christmas Tree Lane, that has been a holiday attraction since 1920.
